Clinical features

  • This presents with recurrent transient monocular visual loss
  • This is after viewing smartphone screens in the dark
  • The subject is usually lying down sideways in bed viewing the screen with one eye
  • It usually occurs before going to sleep or on waking up
  • It affects the contralateral eye to the side the subject was lying on
