- The tremor involves extraocular and palatal muscles
- It develops weeks or months after the insult
- It consists of low frequency oscillations
- Eye closure worsens eye oscillations
- There is dissociated pendular nystagmus
- The neck, trunk, and limb muscles are occasionally involved
- There may be associated delayed ataxia
