Differential diagnosis: from arteritic AION
- There are no systemic symptoms of giant cell arteritis
- There is no early massive visual loss
- There is no chalky-white optic disc swelling
- There is no associated cilio-retinal artery occlusion
- There is no massive non-filling of the choroid on fluorescein fundus angiography
- Inflammatory markers are normal
- Temporal artery biopsy is normal
