  • It involves the cerebrum and cerebellum
  • There is early involvement of the corpus callosum inner rim
  • The signal intensity approaches CSF intensity
  • There may be extensive cystic degeneration and cerebral atrophy
  • Restricted diffusion is seen in the relatively spared areas
