Brighton GBS diagnostic criteria
- There is bilateral flaccid weakness
- There are reduced or absent reflexes in the weak limbs
- It follows a monophasic course from 12 hours to 28 days
- The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cell count is <50/mL
- There is raised CSF protein
- There are consistent nerve conduction studies (NCS)
- There are no alternative causes
